When I started blogging in 2009 I never thought life online can be this rewarding and a lot exhausting, I always thought its as fast and as extra frenzy as running my life offline, so often I find myself caught in this internet dilemma and then at some point ask myself – ‘can it be possible to hire an online secretary or have any web tool that’ll organize all these online sites I’m browsing into every single day?’ It actually is possible, you just have to pay them by the hour, but thinking that I don’t earn that big online yet, I would prefer mine free – if possible.

TO MARRY A NOT-SO FEMINIST

I just had a hearty conversation with a friend who after several months of thinking decided to finally sign-in the marriage contract with her long-time live-in partner. I was yelling out loud over the phone ‘has bad air gotten on your head?’

She actually share the same thought as mine that so long as hetero partners design for themselves rules, agreed or enter an agreement between their partnership there’s no need for any exhausting, financially draining marriage ritual to be done, we’re self-professed not-so feminists and that to us marriage is suppose to be just a venue to perpetuate human specie and consequently for the continuity of human society, nothing coercive, submissive or kind of that usual marriage thing we’ve grown to believe.

But to our dismay we’re born long after the templates of how women should live their lives has been put into place, that while we challenge such an institution, we’re likely to be subjected to prejudiced notion of social mutiny and that at the end of the day, whether we like it or not we’re pawns of this so called social arrangement.

On a larger picture, what can we do? We need all these so-called legal-marriage papers to do business with other organizations of this society, so before they knew it they’re already looking for cheap wedding rings for next month’s ceremony, I guess the best thing I can do is to guard our rights and be part of this so-called woman’s support system.

Sometimes, I can’t help it but find myself at fault for studying and learning so much about this stuff, had I just been an idiot I guess my life comes in less complicated, maybe somewhere in my second life I got to design my own social set-up.

It’s final I’m buying a treadmill

I made a pact to myself to run this year, but time and circumstance really won’t allow me to, I can’t run out in the morning as I need to prepare the kids for school, I can’t go to the gym during day time since I still have to tend to my youngest son, my afternoons too are filled to prepare for my evening class, but I’m determined to do it in any way possible.

‘Light bulb on my head’ … having a treadmill at home would likely solve this setback, so I’ve discussed this idea to my husband, he seemed unwilling in the beginning, but I’ve made a good research on why we have to invest and have one at home, oh yeah, at the end of it all, I made my proposal as convincing as possible and guess what? It has been approved, lol.

I really wanted the motorized one, though they’re a bit expensive compared to the manual. I have not really decided what name to buy yet and if you happen to drop by this blog and have a connection to suppliers or knew of someone who sells motorized, not so expensive and not too big one, just a size enough to eat up a little space in a regular human house … I’d really appreciate it if you can recommend them to me. I just scored a new pair of running shoes today and I’m quiet happy, though not really that important requirement for me to start my running stint as I’ve scored previously a pair and it’s still serving me fine, blame it to women’s impulses I can’t help it but serve my little happiness so I carted it out.

Huwaaaaw! Is this really Jinkee Pacquiao? If so, did she ever have that second thought – Am I really this on photo? I just thought she would do ala Drew Barrymore who attempted to sue her publicist after seeing her photos she can’t even recognize herself.

What Belo, the make-up artists, the stylist, the photoshop artists did was truly a work of art … perfect art … they all did a great job … transformation in the truest sense of the word … I actually don’t know if you’ll take that as an appreciation or a cynistic approach me addressing this photo …. But gracious heavens, isn’t this just too much? I mean overly photoshopped and all, She looked liked someone else, but whatever it is … her January look is a true personification of beauty and techno at the zenith of convergence - common woman's mind to 21st century beauty.

TO THE GREAT WOMEN WHO HAVE WALKED THIS PLANET ...

SCENT OF A WOMAN: And why I was prodded to list the things I want to accomplish before I die

After several days of watching it up ‘till the wee hours of the night I finally hit the finale of this Korean Drama – Scent of a Woman, you know at times when I’m depressed and just don’t want to get out to see the world I kill up time sniffing over dramas – I find it a lighter alternative to reading not to mention that I find this a practical way to learning Korean language – yes, this is where I’ve mastered my Korean greetings and expressions, lol. – aigooo!

You know why I love Korean Dramas? The plots are so simple and uncomplicated – it’s doesn’t require much of you yet it points straight right at where you’re vulnerable at – Scent of a Woman made me cry every episode of it – the writer, the director, the actors were so good – though I find their names hard to pronounce and remember – I find it otherwise memorizing their faces.

Scent of a Woman is about an average not-so-strong willed, practically not a pretty woman based on social standards, working her butt out to make a living in a travel agency, she endured all her tormentors for a decade just so she can stay on her job, but when she found out she had cancer and was given 6 months to live, she resigned with a bang, used her savings, travel and live life the way she wanted it to be.

There are so many twists in the story that made me glued to it – I highly recommend it - if you have time feed this CD in your player – it’s really a good catch.

Maybe I was destined to watch this drama – I was prodded to draw the things I should accomplish before I my last curtain call.

It made me realize that life indeed is too short, if you can do it now – then do it. Sometimes we worry so much what future would bring us, we prepare so much for the future – but this drama made me realized that hell, so long as we’re living we can always find a way to survive – that’s what human’s core are made of – our too much worrying of the things that’ll happen tomorrow sometimes made people greedy – but if we think of just living it up for today, live life as if today is your last day – you’ll find fulfillment and satisfaction.

So much I’ve pondered on this drama – the other side of the plot spotlighted the life of a doctor – that while patients look up to them for cure, they’re not God that can tell what future brings to a certain life – they’re also bounded by humans limited comprehension of the wonders of our existence.

Not to mention that, hey, I want to learn Tango too… hahaha.

Hi Ladies, how was your weekend? Nothing much on this side except that I still can’t get over the fun and excitement during the Davao Bloggers Black and White Christmas Ball on Sunday night. It was my first Christmas party with the group and truly had enjoyed meeting the faces behind the blogs.

THE CLASSIC FASHION CONTRACTION

Its inevitable Christmas is here and it’s this time of the year where array of invitations to parties and cocktails line up like there’s no tomorrow, it’s also this time of the year where a lot of women would get anxious about their body, their dress, their hairstyle, their shoes, make-up and practically the whole get-up to the party.

For most women who are a frequent and used to getting to parties, they could already have a closet of party gowns, racks of dainty red stilettos and kits of make-ups ready all year-round, in fact, I knew of someone who does her own make-up and need no salon prior to the party anymore - such a woman with skill I would say. Well, I know there are on trend, quality beauty products online we can purchase now, some in fact comes with handy tutorials on how to do make-up your own – I think this is just matter of constant practice - this skill I think I should master next.

WINTER WALKING BOOTS

As an experienced winter walker, sometimes walking in very extreme conditions, I have to say I haven’t yet found a “one size fits all situations” type of boot.

But also; I’ve learned the hard way that to get your boots right for winter walking is absolutely vital; far more so than for the other seasons (that’s not to say these aren’t important – but they aren’t as likely to be life threatening!).

In winter, if you are only day walking in good conditions and know what the route and weather are likely to have in store, you’ll probably be OK with with heavy leather hiking boots.

Just remember to wear the best thermal socks you can buy, with room for your feet and toes to move around a little (but not too much). With most leather boots, you can fit a crampon if the conditions warrant them, but they’re probably not needed unless you’re planning to go very high and there’s a lot of snow and ice. But if it's exceptionally cold or you are planning to camp out and/or walk overnight, leather hiking boots won’t be adequate. This is because of their tendency to absorb up water during the day and freeze during the night, making it difficult or impossible to get them on in the morning.

For serious mountain walking and overnighters, plastic double boots are the probably the wisest choice. Don’t be tempted to buy get ice climbing boots, as these are too stiff for walking. Also, be extremely careful about your brands; some plastic boots aren't really designed for extreme conditions so go with a quality brand like Craghoppers or any other recommended by a reputable dealer who is able to give you genuine professional advice.

Also – once you’ve bought them, wear the boots as much as you possibly can – around the house, walking around the shops; whatever. The more you break them in and make them the boots for your feet – the better they’ll serve you in extreme weather conditions.

HOLIDAY GOWNS FOR MOMMIES WITH BIG TUMMIES

Obviously, that would be me, though I often say… ‘never mind, love handles come with age’ but I can’t help it, I also worry about how to trim my flabs off especially that it’s party season, like these months, and they look so, not so nice if you’re on an evening gown.

THE TALE OF MY DANG SHODDY SANDALS

I was at the mall the other day; I was trying to find a cheaper flight seat for my brother who is flying south for the winter, lol. Luckily, I was able to find a one way ride just enough for the money he gave, unfortunately the return flight cost higher so I decided to book the ‘to’ only … he’s on his own with the ‘fro’ if he decide to land in the Aral sea then that would be his call.

Anyway, I might have really set forth a wrong foot during that day, everything didn’t worked out as planned, I was then in middle of the escalator when out of the blue it stopped, so I stepped my way down to the mall gate, just before I could stride out somebody stepped on my slippers from my back and wooot! I was a step ahead of dang shoddy footwear. I was embarrassed to death, but I blindly picked my slippers up turn towards this bazaar right at the atrium of Victoria Plaza.

I was dang poor with only P100.00 left on my big fat red wallet, how ironic. One of the ladies saw me and said ‘pili na mam’, I asked her back if she had a pair worth P50 but she said all their dang slippers cost a hundred pesos, geez, I’ll get a new pair but for sure I’ll walk my way back home on this strategy.

Just when I saw this girl sitting, staring blindly at the ceiling, I tapped her back and asked her if she’s from Davao? She said she’s waiting for her friend but seems like she’s not coming and she has no cents for the jeepney going back home, I seem to see a light at the end of the tunnel… geezz.. how can we be in a same situation, indeed things really happen for a reason, so I negotiated and said, ‘if you can buy me a sachet of rugby at the hardware so I can glue back this smiling slippers of mine, I can give you a fare going home.

In fifteen minutes, I was able to glue back my sandals for that P15 peso rugby sachet and gave her the P35 change for her fare home. She offered to blow the glue to let it dry fast … she’s from Marilog and a househelp, I didn’t ask further.

EVENING AT A DAVAO CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

It’s this time of the year where bazaars and flea markets sprout like mushrooms everywhere, in fact as I write I can hear my kids whining, preparing for an afternoon trip at a bazaar downtown. Thing with flea markets here, goods on sale are the same as last year, the only change maybe are the price, the style and the color – clothes, perfumes, px make-ups, goods, food stuff, etc. – well, they’re priced a little lower than those at the mall, but you also have to deal with painful parking.

OK, we’re going out and I’ll get this post done when I come back and share what I got from the bazaar.

We left at 5 in the afternoon, as I’ve said parking is real painful so we headed to the nearest mall park the car at their spacious parking lot and we took a taxi all the way to Davao Convention Center.

Since its Saturday it’s jam-packed with people, snooping around what’s new and what’s hot. Indeed, clothes, toys, bags, shoes, make-up, perfumes – the way I say it was actually for women’s bazaar, my husband has been complaining ‘where have all the men items gone?’ Practically what’s on display were for women – Oh, well, that explains why women now are the key players in the economy.

There were beautiful designer bags on display, they were priced way too low than those displayed at the mall window, it was so tempting, so many gorgeous purses, so little moolah, in times like this I would always say, to get serious with gaming at [click here ->] online bingo site, had I been earnest in clicking I could have won a million bucks by now and could have shopped all those gorgeous bags.

But I’m no dully, I’ve taken home this lovely Indian ear chandelier, I’m thinking of getting back there tomorrow to buy a pair from these collection, I fall short of moolah, my kids had shopped way ahead of me, before I knew it, I’m walking on an empty wallet, but I’ve long had accepted the fact that often, especially in shopping, I always take the back seat.

You probably have read the papers today, ‘GMA now under arrest’ and that’s accompanied by a photo of her in halo vest behind bars and you probably had followed this political circus that loomed this country these past few months involving the former first family and these despicable politicians on either sides throwing mud at each other – situations like this made me, really, discomfited as a Filipino – how disgusting.

I don’t know but after all the disgusts I felt towards GMA from the time she said sorry on national television at the height of that historic ‘Hello Garci’ scandal down to the unfolding of her unforgivable foolishness while in office – I felt sorry, deeply sorry for her seeing the once most powerful woman in this country has finally fallen, ill, jailed and probably anguished over the thought that after reigning supreme this is now she has become.

I wonder why this country always had to go through to this kind of situation every time – ‘lagi nalang’ nakakasawa – we always cry for change, but we never learn – I wonder where did this country went wrong? Is it the leaders? – all playing ‘know it all’, Is it the 90 million people that politicians refused to give ample education so they can manipulate them easiest? or The Church? with probably same purpose for them to stay in power? This is the discourse that I long been seeking the answer.

But for now, what is clear is that … Gloria, merici na na! Ang gaba di jud magsaba!

I found this purse photo at Telegraph UK's Fashion blog, it's one of those Versace Spring 2011 collection, it's metal studded, it's structured, it's compact. I love purses of this design as they stand whenever you put them on top of any plane making your stuff organized inside besides it can carry several stuff, the only thing I don't like about this bag is that ... I can't take it home as I don't have enough to take it, anyway, so settled then ...

And then one solemn day inside the church, forgive my nose and my itching finger, I saw this bag clutched at a lady's shoulder in front of me, I immediately remember the Versace above, really, although not exactly the same, we Pinoys really know how to find a way to at least take a taste of how it's like to have a celebrated one, or it's just this people from Bangkok that's pushing us too.

A week after, I went to a China store to buy some retail garter for my child's school project, I saw a hundred of these lined above my head at the store counter, while my eyeballs kept rolling - the lady said .. it's class A from Bangkok and I saw one just exactly the same as the above.

It just prodded me to think ... what exactly is the difference in terms of feeling having the celebrated ones and class A ones? I won't use fake to address the latter as it's also manufactured originally only of different material, and took an inspiration from the above.

The concept has now spread to the UK. In early 2011, amid a blaze of publicity, a cosmetic surgery prize draw was held in a London nightclub. "My Big Fat Plastic Surgery Prize Draw" offered a main prize of £4,000 of plastic surgery treatments, including gastric bands and breast augmentation, at the Transpire Cosmetic Group. Tickets costs £25 ($40) each and runner up prizes included Botox, fillers and teeth whitening treatments. The magazine also offered readers the chance to win a makeover which included cosmetic surgery. The successful candidate elected for breast enlargement. Other plastic surgery clinics offer discounts and reward schemes on popular treatments such as gastric bands.

Why the Sudden Rise?

Cosmetic surgery is more acceptable in today's society and more and more people are undergoing treatment. Plastic surgery used to be a private, almost secretive, industry but now it is much more mainstream. Whereas in the past it was the richer person who could undergo surgery it is now open to a wider range of budgets. However, it is still expensive so these competitions are the only way for some to have surgery and for some it’s simply considered as another option to finance breast implants. The companies offering these prizes also receive a great deal of publicity, which attracts even more business for them.

The Backlash

Not everyone sees these competitions in a positive light. Indeed many, including plastic surgeons themselves, have labelled them irresponsible and dangerous. The fear is that a winner of such a competition would feel obliged to undergo surgery they do not really want or need. People may undergo treatment without thinking about the consequences. Someone may have a gastric band fitted without understanding the life changing affect it will have upon them. Untitled Jersey City Project – Redefining TV Drama Series

We’re used to watching TV drama series where elements are sequentially arranged, characters are introduced, conflict arises as characters stumble on problems, then eventually the so-called falling action happen then finally the resolution sets in and normally this happen within a long period of time and before we knew it we get bored and wait for the final episode to wrap it up.

But recently, this FX program called Untitled Jersey City Project will I think redefine TV drama series, although experimental and dabbed as a work-in-progress television drama, its now making waves with its non-conventional plot and character presentation.

What is interesting is that all of the episodes, I actually watched all 8 in YouTube, were made a little longer than 2 minutes, yes – that short – a reason why you have lots of processing to do, it’s presented in fragments from a larger story – for me this what makes this drama interesting, I wonder if the production is coming up with a mobile version of this. Awesome!

This drama is set at the heart of the bustling Jersey City waterfront, just across the river from Manhattan, where glass towers and buildings are built – thus the character of Frank George and Ray Rahne, the architects of an on-going Waterfront Stadium emerges.

The episode 3 portrays how notorious real estate tycoon Larry Tyerman let loose his clout over Ray Rahne’s face, following his unlikely behavior – humiliating Tyerman during an awards dinner, the mystery continues as Tyerman’s thug followed Frank and Ray who got into their awesome and pretty Audi. I swear more than the interesting plot is the show off of this gorgeous Audi A6, it made check the car out, so cool!

I don’t travel often, that’s why I make sure I watch lots of travel movies as often as possible. My latest catch was this documentary about Planet Earth shot entirely at the North Pole. I never knew weather can be so erratic in that extremely cold place, one moment it’s sunny and all of a sudden it is freezing.

What really amazed me was the presence of women scientists that came along with the expedition; they were in search for the deepest carbon stored for dating and other environment related stuff. I was thinking if I were in that woman’s shoe I would never survive a - 43*C temperature! I think to survive that I would get myself layers of thermal undergarments to protect me from the cold.

Lately, I learned that tourists are now welcome to travel to the North Pole. I too dreamed of standing on the spot where all geographic points in the world converge. For sure I would travel in style but I wonder how many layers of thermal garments I would use to keep my knees from trembling. Even just the thought of it gives me the chills.

But seriously, this may sound like an extreme adventure but this is one thing one should consider doing before it’s all too late. It would be a life changing experience for anyone interested. Well, if I’m given the chance of a lifetime to explore the extreme, why not. Ah, the thought of it has frozen me already.

WHAT’S YOUR HAND CREAM?

Call it vanity, beauty buff - whatever but I’m really a hand cream junkie, being a stay-at-home mom you can’t help it but have your hands get soaked often – washing clothes, washing dishes, cooking, cleaning all these chores will end you up washing your hands very often – well, obviously constant skin contact with water and soap can make your hands skin dry and flaky – a reason why I always had standby hand lotion at the dry section of our sink.

I’ve been used to this practice, after all the washing is done, I find myself pumping a pea and rub it all over my palm and hands, I love the feeling – it’s kinda hand relaxing and you still keep your hands moisturized even with so much work at hand.

If you ask me what best hand cream will I recommend? I would suggest you go for luxury ones that are packed with Vitamin E and glycerin they’re best for extra dry skin like my hands that often do the odd jobs. I prefer big bottles with pump spout, they’re convenient to use especially when you’re often on the go.

Not all women are gifted with slender physical make-up, some are born with slim structure, some stout, and some really are destined to bear with them some side excesses – like mine. Ah, I hate to admit it, but it's I think best to declare it's a problem to find some solution. Well, I know it would require much on me, time, resources etc. to get rid of these stupid, eye sore, mind bugling love handles, but sometimes you just can’t find a crack to scrap it out.

The sad part is that you can’t look as awesome, although at the back of your mind you say – ‘oh, who cares about pretty, bulge free abs when I got a lot around to attend to.’ But reality is that, there’s always this bell ringing on your ear - ‘if only I have that body’ – what now? I actually don’t know what will be the next phrase … but what I know is that most of the time – I find refuge on fashion camouflages like this.

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE – YOU WILL BE MINE

I actually gone nuts over that iPad and tab thing before but I did not buy one because to me it’s not a picture of what I really like, the tab was too big for a phone and was just too small for a PC and you look like crazy talking to such a big pad you can’t barely hold.

I cut off my desire to own one. But lately Samsung has this awesome, really cool thing called Galaxy Note; it’s like having the entire above feature rolled into this smartphone. It’s not priced in the Phils. yet, but this is the guy I should get involved with.

Here to give you an idea how it works, waahhh I think I should reactivate my loan power to have this on my hand. Ah, really chasing technology can eat you up, but what can I do I live in a material world and I’m just a material girl … sort of… lol… but seriously, the cool feature where you can do digital sketches just awed me, that’s actually the feature that hit me.

I'm no fan of cars, I'm not even a clever city driver, but I'm a cool highway driver.. hahah... it's because I really hate the idea of finding parking space whenever I reach destination with no ample gap at all. But when situation call for, I can drive a bus, seriously – but that’s another story.

Sharing these photos my son took last week at a motor show at Gmall here in Davao. I actually did not go with them; it was his father that went along with him.

I wonder what’s with boys getting excitement looking at these cars, maybe it’s the same excitement me seeing a new styled handbag, lol.

I suppose if a stranger will take a photo of you at any random place, you would probably; 1. Stare at the photographer coldly, fiercely; 2. Grabbed the Photographer’s camera and snatched the rolled film, ‘este’ the SD card; or 3. Pose like Marilyn Monroe terrorizing the photographer instead. But neither of these happened when I had these photos taken.

Would you believe while the priest inside the chapel has been religiously telling the faithfuls to nurture their faith and all that stuff, someone – not so faithful, sort of – has been stealing shots of this woman in black and white wedge. Forgive my blogging mind dear heavens but I’m just a woman victim of circumstance… lol.

I so love my camera, you know NikonD5100 has this ‘flippable’, rotating screen feature, on this act it served it’s master perfectly good.. hahaha!

Love her wedge, it exudes illusion of high-squared heels with the prominent white appliqué … but I tell yah girls - why we punish ourselves putting on pretty-looky-shoesy – punish eh, because as the mass ended I followed her foot out … I can feel her stand’s unstableness – danger is looming on one false step.

They say, beauty is also to pain. I rest my case.

PS, don’t ask anymore how the man looks… I think it’s socially accepted since the guy drive in shiny, ebony Chevy. LOL.

First of all, let me join the whole of Philippine nation in celebrating the victory of Ms. Shamcey Supsup for bagging the 3rd place of Miss Universe title of 2011. Ms. Angola, Leila Lopes was crowned Miss U, along with Miss Brazil, Miss China and Miss Ukraine in the recently concluded pageant at San Paolo, Brazil. Indeed, Shamcey can now be lined among our national pride. Congratulations Shamcey you made us proud!

Beauty as double-edged sword

Sorry about my F mind again, but really I’m no hard fan of beauty pageants, I detest the idea that women are being exploited, undressed, gracefully tortured to remake themselves physically all in the name of beauty. But on the other hand, I felt helpless too being a conscious victim of this double-edged sword system. Sometimes I too find myself crying over painful eyebrow threading and waxing and all that stuff. A situation where women were trapped for the longest time and from the looks of reality – there’s no way women can get out of this.

China and Philippines: Of politics and beauty

It’s a proven theory that indeed there is a complex relationship between politics and beauty. I’ll not present the women’s political struggle on beauty trap issue – but the broader and wider concept of political structure that back this multi-million dollar beauty stint up.

I would assume that international pageants, like Miss Universe –owned by America’s broadcast giant NBC and American Money Man - Donald Trump or Miss World – owned by UK based Eric|Julia Morley is in effect a ‘soft’ manifestation of power to show national and political interest.

To me the winners are not just innocent and best representatives of their countries, but they too have implicit significance in the world power play.

Let me lay my point that I'm making this assumption based on the history of previous years Miss Universe stints. If you’re following closely series of events preceding this year's Miss Universe beauty stint, you can probably get a clue why China and Philippines made it to top 5.

It might be premature to conclude that this is America’s way of amending two nations amid rift over West Philippine Sea that obviously America too has interest in. It should be noted with conviction that once China and Philippines will agree in together – billions of barrels of black gold will be extracted from West Philippine Sea and that America whose powerful industry is dependent on oil will greatly benefit on this accord.

It is therefore not surprising that the reality of crowning ‘Ms. Dam-ag’, ‘Ms. Tuk-an’, ‘Miss Luwa’, ‘Miss Dimagiba’ as Miss Universe is not far from happening.

Well, one might not just be complacent about this theory, but from my point of view - it is.

When I see cute purses like this I think about going toone of the fashion merchandising colleges to design neat things like this.

STREET BODY JEWELRY

If you tread the streets of Davao city you can find many of these guys peddling body jewelry, these are these metal pieces that are used to adorn the ears, the tongue, the nose, the navel or anywhere around an enthusiast’s body.

According to recorded history, this form of body modification - piercing and adorning ones body by inserting all these metal stuff started from way back some 5,000 years ago in Rome, men pricked their nipples and insert some twigs on it as a symbol of manhood and bravery.. oouuuch!

Fast forward 2011, twigs has past its time, these metal stuffs play dominant among aficionados now, some even will just find a comfortable seat at the side of this black velvet and do their procedure … while I understand these are hypoallergenic, I wonder if these are hygienic.I've seen lot’s of teens with little balls on at the tip of their tongue, rings and balls on their ears, navels some even with prominent facial piercings.

While this has been the trend among these subculture and it’s tolerated, I would argue that the mainstream still don’t welcome such. I’m not sure if this trade is covered or being attended to by the folks that takes charge of our public health.

You, how would like a nose ring with a feather on the side .... hehehe! I kept laughing, I know it's ticklish..lol.

I always keep wondering why these techno guys keep inventing needs, 'tuloy hinihingal ako sa kakahabol', lol. But seriously, when this first came out I was one of those who gone mad drooling to own a unit, but during the prime time it was too expensive and there were few brands to choose from. Gladly, 2011 is almost over, some of these will mark-down its prices, you can even score a reader as cheap as $99 now, in no time I'm gonna get one of these.

You know I'm a real sucker of tree carcasses, but dread carrying all those bulky 'Potter' on my bag, imagine this so lightweight yet can store a million tree pages ... really awesome technology.

But sadly that's minus the crisp and the scent of a new book leaf ... which I actually love the most next to reading of course.

Ahh, really, did nothing the whole day - been putting my legs up in the air I got edema after all those liquids I gulped the whole time I had my hide in polky-dotty, I'm not just sure if my brain had run down my feet too, lol.

All I got was this beautiful romantic chiffon dress, I so love it, I found this at Clozette.co. There's something about this type of cloth - chiffon that evokes romance, it's so light, it flows, it's so carefree, it's lovely.

I might check out fashion classes on Guide to Online Schools at some point. Part of me dreams of becoming a fashion designer.

Comfort tables for Moms and babies

First consideration of most moms are really the comfort of our babies next would be our comfort while tending our precious bundle, this follows the logic that comfortable and ease moms have happier dispositions, hence, it also follows that happy moms would also result to happy babies.

Comfort is often than not associated with simple things we work around the house, like change tables, having this kind of furniture in your homes while tending babies is a comfort beyond compare, this allows you to move all the babies things, like diapers, bottles and all other layettes in just one push and pull, changing diapers can be as comfortable as possible for both babies and moms as babies are placed relaxed on top of a change table at mom's working level.

I had one of these when my kids were still in their diaper days, somewhat like actually, but I had it handed-down to my cousin to experience the same comfort as I did.

So why suffer rushing here and there changing that wetty nappy when you can have an affordable comfort within your reach, and if you're having trouble finding one in your local furniture store, find one on Facebook.

ITCHY, SCRATCHY SAGA CONTINUES

I beg your indulgence but I really can’t find a decent topic to write except for this dang allergy that plagued me these days. I wrote previously that since most of the clinics are closed on Sundays, my only choice was to run to the ER and have my polky skin checked by a doctor that calls some other doctor on what to do with an old woman that runs after her breath – apparently that woman was asthmatic and feeble they needed to shove a hole somewhere in the neck to put the breathing tube, [this post is not about that woman] I waited anyway for almost an hour – thinking gosh, how can I rush when someone here needed the doctor most than I do. I wondered if any of those nurses had attended the best nursing schools. I should hope so.

Anyway, since I didn’t see any changes, I was thinking what if my hide will resemble that of a leopard if not remedied? I’m afraid too so I went to see a specialist for allergy on Monday and that’s yesterday. Luckily, after following the room numbers I’ve hit right on the spot; unfortunately I was listed on the 12th, so I needed to wait for my turn again. I had ‘bihon and coke’ for lunch, went back to the clinic, waited, was served at 2:30 in the afternoon, and spent only 10 minutes inside the clinic – what a fate!

After the doctor asked here and there, what, how and where its time for her to write on that piece of paper, the very piece of paper I waited for three hours – finally I went out and paid the P450 consultation fee to the secretary who was quick enough to move around an undersized, paper-filled reception area.

I went straight to the hospital pharmacy, thinking the meds are cheaper but unfortunately there were strings of humanity lining up to forever, so I went out and headed to Mercury – unfortunately the ultra small, expensive lotion for itchy and scratchy was out of stock – was drained to death so I went home and sleep.

The itch is now tolerable, what are not are these dang nodes that swelled on my armpit, joints, and groin – well, I actually love this kind of pain – they’re those type of pain that’ll let you sleep like a baby.

My hide doesn’t really look good, from polka patterned; I think it’s now more like a Wagyu, you know that densely marbled kobe-beef? It sure does look like one.

IT'S ITCHY, SCRATCHY

For some good reasons I really felt the need to update this blog, that’s despite the fact that I’m itchy all over, I mean If only I have a camera now you could see my hide in little red polka dots and mind you, they’re all over my body and it’s so itchy.

All I can remember was I ate fried egg for breakfast the other morning that when I woke up yesterday, gosh, I can’t believe I looked like a flower horn fed on red syn for months.

It’s Sunday on this side of the world today so most of the clinics are closed only the hospital ER’s are open, I was thinking I was the only patient since it’s a good weather day, but when I get inside – Jesus Christ! It’s like doomsday in there, if it not for that dang prescription I really could have evaporated as soon as I enter.

After extracting a syringe of blood for lab test, thank goodness it all normal … final verdict! Allergy! Was prescribed Iterax by the attending doctor there, he said it’s good for alleviating itchiness and redness, but I have to wait till later tonight after my kids had done all their school task or I’ll sleep over them studying, doki said it’s a sedative too.

Anyway, I don't own this awesome dang angry breast protector, I saw it in one of the stores online, I was planning to buy one but was thinking, gosh, I think I needed a see-through top on this so those that I came along would have that idea what message I'm trying to tell them.. hahaha... DISGUSTING REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN

I often see this window display at a local shoe store here in Davao. If we look at it on its aesthetic and artistic perspective, indeed the artist has somewhat conveyed the message of trend in pop fashion which is actually the reason why such visuals were imagined.

But shall I blame myself for having this ‘F’ mind, minding someone else’s art, analyzing and evaluating such a picture beyond what I see? So sorry about this but I just have to say my piece on this.

Look, if you think this picture is just fine, then to me it isn’t. Why are women represented and presented not only on this display, but practically in all forms of media in such a dehumanizing manner, women are turned into objects of consumption. if you look around majority of these billboards in the sky has women with an open mouth or if not half naked and all that.

They could have displayed there the whole mannequin to represent women and not this dismembered type of a woman devoid of brain and upper torso.

Honestly, I really think that as our society progresses there would be more of this subtle, unquestioned practice in mass media - dismemberment of women … and if this will debated further – would boil down to freedom of art expression and all that – all at the expense of women!

I was roaming around Chinese shops this afternoon here in Davao to look for my son's project materials when I spotted this shop that sells bags, I mean imitation bags and was stunned that one of these Bottega Veneta's was copied exactly the same as this rust one, but of course the materials are way too far than the original, a Bottega Veneta would could cost around a hundred thousand pesos and the ones on this Chinese shop cost only P300 pesos, lol. At least there's one of exact style for those who can't packed an Italian pure leather bag.

But if there's a chance for me to pick four designs among those alluring and luxurious designs, I'll have these lovelies ... they're perfect for my lifestyle besides the woven design that I coveted the most. Just lovely.

I had few minutes encounter with a goodol friend today, nothing really grand just saying hi and hello, talking about life, about busy life and one of the questions that we tried to answer was that - how do we simplify our lives?

Simplifying our lives is no different to this eating analogy, anything taken too much will surely overflow and that there will be no other room for other sumptuous dessert and drinks anymore.

We cannot simplify our lives unless we can handle our priorities. It’s just a relief to know that some smart women have transformed their lifestyle by defining their goals and priorities by aligning them with a higher principle and passion. But not all women are blessed with such ability to organized things up, a reason why we should get rid of a lot of things that will complicate our lives much further.

While there can be thousands of stuff we can fetch along our everydayness, let’s just pick those we feel needed and not much of what we wanted.

I got an invitation today to attend a friend’s wedding on August. This friend of mine has been working as a teacher in Japan for sometime now and she’s coming home with a Japanese soon-to-be husband.

With so many gadgets, personal, home and kitchen appliances flooding the market today it’s really a headache finding the right one.

Exactly what happened to me just a while back. I’m supposed to buy a new coffee maker this morning, our old one – I feel nostalgic about this inanimate coffee machine of mine, it served me countless cups for several years already, but I think this is just how long, I mean the usage life of any electronic gadget we have today. I didn’t do anything, it just stop dripping and when I brought it to the technician he said ‘it’s beyond repair and if I insist I would be paying more on the repair than the cost of buying a new one.’ Anyway, I finally decided to let it go, so long dear coffee maker.

So I did a trip this morning to the mall. Wow, the kitchen appliance section has a whole lot of them, from A to Z brands and they're on stand-by waiting for picking, I spent about an hour hovering, reading and asking around, in the end, I got tired and went home empty handed. I just realized why did I make a trip to the mall in the first place without even looking or reading for a specific kitchen appliance reviews online first. Gosh, I could have saved my morning for something else worthwhile, how can this slipped my mind, er just an excuse to go malling - alone, both actually, hahaha!

Anyway, I’ve learned my lesson from this point, unless you have the luxury of time then you can hang around the mall, but if time is of the essence, I suggest you read reviews online first before hitting your way to buying your machine.

I think in practically all societies, all cultures around the world, sex – the act is something that is not openly talked about, it’s has been regarded by many as a taboo – that any violation to such can lead one to be ostracized by the society – hence, especially in a country like the Philippines where 80% are faithfuls of the Catholic Church, sex is something you should keep to yourself and should be done within with confines of private quarters only you and your partner should know.

While many regard the internet as a bane, especially to moms like me who would want to protect my children’s tender minds to issues like sex at the early age, no matter how I tried to wall it, the other side of this tale is that those of legal age who are finding answers to their questions with regards to exploring their sexuality, the internet is a highway they can thread to finding zillions of information along the way. Even to ask how to lose your virginity in which in natural, physical environment you cannot just plainly ask someone or you’ll be laughed at or you’ll be regarded as sexually perverted or something of that sort – in the internet its just as simple as typing your question, while some info gives you gibberish answers there are also some that provides logical and rational information regarding what women and men ought to know about their sexuality, in which to me actually is a good start to exploring this less – I mean concealed explored areas of human sexuality.

I beg your indulgence my dear men friends, but I really have high praises as always for women and that goes practically in all aspects of life, especially in terms of threshold for pain – like birthing, emotional pains, and social pains – literally translated to wearing high heels as one of the examples.

I wonder why women - even if they [we] knew the fact and experience it on a daily basis that wearing high heels poses real pain not only on [y]our tarsals, [y]our legs, the back or the spine area, we still opt to put one on and endure the pain.

[I know what you’ll gonna say next, just keep it to yourself will ya?]

Even with this looming health risk, very rare you can find women who doesn’t have at least a pair of stilettos in her wardrobe, in fact, it is regarded as an essential, ‘must have’ for every modern women. The sad part is that I myself knew the very system why women are ingeniously lured to get into this painful exercise, sometimes while I care about my core on the politics of this misogynistic act – unconsciously I’m also carried out looking and shopping for one, which whether women like it or not, it has been dictated by the style gurus that this inch and this style will be this season’s must have, how clever!

Anyway, I admit I got defeated and has hoard several pairs of stilettos lately too, I’ve anticipated some painful moments of these ‘lovelies’ that I’ve prepared for an antidote – I mean I use medically-recommended support hosiery, these stockings are made especially to avert leg swelling, ankle swelling, prevent if not eliminate varicose veins and all other medical conditions brought about by wearing high heels.

Oh yes, this is one weapon I need to slip into my purse. But wait, it’s not what you think lovelies, it’s faux senorita loaded with beauty arsenals da’lins.

Dutch jewelry designer Ted Norton came up with novelty kit for women lately. It’s a beauty kit handgun, there were two models made, the Chanel and the Dior 001. Each contains women beauty essentials, like lipgloss, a pill container, a USB, a perfume bottle, a hairpin – and listen it comes with an 18 karat gold toothpick, Dang – this would be the only time I might, er I will recycle my toothpick for next meal… Awesomely odd! – and guess what, drum roll, stomach roll, eye roll ---- this baby cost a staggering $11,500, it’s way a little cheaper than the Chanel line that runs along $17,000 enough actually build me a little decent home with a hammock on the side ..:)

I’ve always thought that Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products comes in affordable than those branded ones, because it’s the only health product brand that is always present in our packages, obviously my cousins prefer this brand because savings is incomparable. While it may come in cheaper, I can substantiate the affectivity of this health supplement, in fact most of Walgreens health products contain same active component as other known brands.

brands are pharmacists recommended, they’ve been in the health industry for quiet a while now, they’ve proven their worth and promised nothing but quality and satisfaction guarantee.
