One of the most important features any facility in this world could ever have are the sanitized and clean modern toilet. But for many of us who is used to the convenience of clean privy we often take this privilege for granted without realizing that what may be a mundane everydayness to us may mean so much to others. 

Unilever Philippines, the makers of DOMEX has launched ONE MILLION CLEAN TOILETS MOVEMENT, its objective is to provide sanitized and clean toilet facilities to deprived and underprivileged communities. 

This year, DOMEX want to make this campaign far-reaching. And to give us a good idea of what this campaign is all about, DOMEX launched yet another worthy advocacy plan to help raise awareness to involve more people to join in their noble objective to help many more depressed communities gain access to clean toilets. 

Thus, the FIESTA video was launched. This video depict a lively fiesta setting with bands and ensembles in row welcoming not any celebrity or politician but eager community folks set to make a try of their new, sanitized and well-built toilet facility.

Your YouTube views count so much. That in every unique view translates into a pledge for the advocacy campaign which collects pledges from households to conscientiously maintain their own hygienic bathrooms. Count me in this campaign! And for every pledge received, DOMEX will donate P5 to UNICEF’s sanitation program which aimed to improve access to basic sanitation in deprived areas around the world, including the Philippines. 

Today, all over the country, lucky recipients are welcoming the construction of new toilet facility; repairs are on-going for dilapidated ones and becoming aware of the importance of disease prevention, especially among children. 

According to the Department of Health, of the estimated 3,420 diarrhea-related deaths among Filipino children under 5 every year, around 2,000 could have been prevented by access to safe water, improved toilet sanitation and personal hygiene. “This video should serve as a wake-up call for most of us. 

The little things we take for granted, like having a clean toilet, could mean the world to others and could definitely help save lives,” Dennis Chua, DOMEX Brand Manager said.
