As we all know breasfeeding is the best way to feed babies. It has been said and proven over and over again that breastfeeding has immeasurable benefits both for the baby and the mother.
I am a loud advocate of this practice as I have breastfed all of my three children from zero until they’re about a year old and have reaped all the enormous benefits breastfeeding has to offer. But to tell you frankly, nursing is hard, it’s extremely hard. There’s no app that comes with feed and plug feature to it to at least make breastfeeding a breeze. It takes a good amount of frustration, practice, time and discomfort for both the baby and the mother to eventually get a good handle of it.
It’s just comforting to note that in today’s time and space we can now find so many products that can assist mothers make breastfeeding easy. Looking back, I wish these things were available back then, my life could have been a lot easy and I could have been a lot less cranky.
There are a thousand of pregnancy essentials, but based on experience these 5 I find most needed for a happy young mummy;

Every woman is different, every pregnancy is different but there’s only one constant, your breast will change a cup size bigger whether you like it or not in a way that’s unique to you. You still can use your regular bra though, but as a health rule, tight ain’t right. So it is recommended to let those sexy laces rest for a while and strap on a more comfortable and painless breast support.
A good nursing bra should provide comfort and ease for the mother and at the same time makes breastfeeding easy. Choose a piece that you can open and snap close the cup with just one hand.
Milk Saver
Why was this not invented at that time I was still breastfeeding? Had this been available then I could have not wasted a lot of my milk and stained a lot of my shirts. This product is a real must-have for every breastfeeding mothers. The genius milk pouch design that is attached to the nipple allows moms to collect every drop of milk and none goes to waste. There are many online stores that sell this product now, but make sure they’re legitimate to save you from hassle.
This milk saver can also be used discreetly at work or at home and it is comfortable to use. You can buy up additional sterilized milk bags so it would go straight to the freezer.

Holding a baby while feeding can make moms arms sore. When babies are still small, moms do extra effort to fiddle with the distance from the lap to the breast. And when babies are a bit bigger, their weight can take a toll to the mom’s arms.
The nursing pillow is a good long-term investment. This provides a supple support making nursing more comfortable and relaxing.

When I was still nursing, I used to contract a seamstress to make me a custom flip-type top solely for breastfeeding. There were no tops or dresses at the time specially designed for nursing. There were button straight tops though, but wearing the same type of blouse every time you go out can be frustrating. Nursing and raising a kid can be hard but at least moms now can find comfort knowing that there are available in fashion tops and dresses available.
These designs are fantastic, aren’t they? I’d buy a dozen in different colours, makes nursing fashionably a breeze.

When breastfeeding in public, using nursing scarves and covers can be very convenient and practical. It gives moms and the baby privacy wherever and whenever. I like nursing scarves better than the covers because of its multi functionality. Choosing for nursing covers styles, however, really depends upon mommy’s style, comfort and personality.
They may be a short list but speaking from experience, they’re practical and no-nonsense list to making breastfeeding more comfortable and convenient.
