Munching at Munchtown Grill Davao

The vibrant food scene in Davao City made me so thrilled about the idea of where to eat and what to eat next. There’s always this element of excitement what awaits me as I explore and set out a gastronomic adventure with so much choices around.

But have you noticed? Despite all these urbane fares and no matter how sophisticated our palates have become, we always go back to where we’re comfortable at. In other words, at the end of a long food journey, we always have this cravings to look for familiar and favourite flavours of home and we can just be who we truly are.

And if you’re looking for a pleasant place to find just that, Munchtown Grill is the resto to be. It’s located along Torres Street shortly after corner Jacinto Ext. It has a welcoming facade with a good space for Al fresco dining.

My friend, Ian brought me along for an afternoon munch. It’s actually my first time here and I find the place cosy and friendly.

Munchtown Grill has a good list on the menu with a satisfying twist.

First on our table were the four flavours of their pizza – Bacon & Mushroom, Three Cheeses, Hawaiian and Pepperoni. Munchtown’s version comes in crisp and thin crust. What’s not to love about their pizza? Especially when it’s only P160 that can feed at least 4 people. I personally love the bacon and mushroom, its cheesy with crusty texture in every bite. Extra toppings can be requested, ask your server about it.

And oh, you’re one lucky earthling because as of post time, Munchtown offers BUY 1 TAKE 1 on all their pizzas every 15th and 30th. That's double the fun and cheesiness. So bring the whole ‘tropa sa sweldo’ and go pizza night out.

Besides the pizza, Munchtown Grill also has an amazing list of tummy-filling grilled food items. Name it they have it. I think all parts of Chicken were listed – from grilled chicken heart to ‘isul’ and many more. They also have the uber delicious Angus Beef skewer. Don’t miss a stick for the world, it’s really good you should try it.

When you dine with your family or ‘barkada’, I suggest you ask for the grill platter, it has two of everything listed on the menu. That way you get to have a taste of everything. If you want an extra boost and want to aggravate your happy hormones for the day, get one of their no-ice milkshakes. It’s truly a treat!

They also have hand-cut, never frozen fries in variety of flavours, burgers and oh, the kimchi rice would be a delightful surprise. And as always, grilled food always come best paired with iced cold beer and a warm company.
