AirAsia, world’s best low cost carrier has partnered for the second time around with multi-awarded TV host, producer, entrepreneur, blogger and UNICEF Special Advocate, Daphne Osena-Paez for the second season of Red Talks. Red Talks is a series of travel webisodes (web episodes) that premiered in AirAsia’s Facebook page last year.
For the second season, AirAsia flew in bloggers, online influencers and media friends to Cebu City for the press launch. The event took place at the Twilight Roof Deck of Bai Hotel with the dreamy nightlights of the city as backdrop.
Present during the launch was AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador. In his welcome address, he revealed that ‘AirAsia is a sociable and innovative brand and we embrace social media not only to engage our fans but also to inspire and connect with our guests. With RedTalks, we are bringing back the era of talk TV and magazine shows to online audience with a refreshing approached using a platform that has become so effective and popular.”
AirAsia Redtalks host Daphne Osena-Paez said, “The quality of stories and the online engagement we got last year when RedTalks was launched have been overwhelming. For this new season, we aim to raise the level of discussion and cover a wide range of topics to engage our audience and inspire then to have meaningful connections.”
We have an exclusive peek of the first season during the launch. The pilot webisode entitled “Sweet Connections” featured Davao’s pride and award-winning, Malagos Chocolate – how it’s made and how it impacts the people around it. Also in this episode is the country’s most innovative chef, Chef JP Anglo showing his fresh and ingenius new creation using Malagos Chocolate called Santan in April. This will be in AirAsia in-flight menu soon. I’m kind of excited to experience it soon. Let’s watch out for it!

RedTalks second episode will be about women empowerment. A topic championed by AirAsia given the fact that not only their chairperson is a woman in the person of one of 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World – Maan Hontiveros. It also talks about Maan’s tale of disrupting the ordinary to create value in the lives of women and marginalized groups. Her talk was presented in a lively fashion with Radio DJ Tracy Abad-Prado co-hosting the discussion. AirAsia also advocate equal opportunity for women in their workplace. No wonder a number of women pilots being employed at AirAsia are growing.
The third episode will feature award-winning artist, David Foster. This collaboration aim to find the best and diverse pool of talents, skills and creative individuals in the ASEAN region. Also in this episode are conversations on raising awareness on this pressing global issue - Human Trafficking. Air Asia Foundation is dedicated to put on training its airline personnel across the region and beyond to combat trafficking.
The most exciting part is the fifth episode where Daphne goes to Bali in Indonesia to take part in the much celebrated food festival in Ubud. She’ll be meeting farmpreneurs and learn about upscaling farmers through innovation.
For the sixth and final episode, Cambodian Living Arts (CLA) a non-profit organization based in Phnom Penh will be the focus of the conversation. This organization has been instrumental in facilitating the transformation of Cambodia through the arts by providing education, capacity building of arts leaders and opportunities for emerging artists to generate income and create a sustainable environment for the arts.
These conversations aim to inspire you to take action and encourage you to level up your journey not only to make a difference but also to gain new perspective about life through our travels.
