Saying Goodbye and Hello to the Empowered Women of Park Inn Davao

A lunch gathering was arranged by Park Inn Davao for Davao media on April 10. For what I thought to be a launching of something delightful offering this summer turned out to be a despedida lunch for Ms. Patty Tan, the Marketing Manager of Park Inn Davao.

We were all surprised to know after the announcement that she’s leaving the hotel. The reason is very well-founded and I can truly relate – to become a fulltime mother. I also forego a lot of teaching and research grants back then in exchange of mamahood.

I’ve known Ms. Patty since her last stint at the previous hotel she had worked for. After she transferred at Park Inn Davao three years ago, I became a frequent of the hotel's events and launchings. It’s always a smooth road working with this lady. Now that she’s leaving the hotel, her equally efficient Assitant Ms. Izza Cadiente will take her post.

On another good news. Park Inn Davao has officially announced the appointment of Ms. Emelyn Mauhay-Rosales as General Manager of the hotel. She was the Director of Sales and Marketing before she was appointed as OIC-GM after the untimely passing of GM Pavan Kakar.

Ms. Rosales graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Tourism at the University of the Philippines Diliman as Cum Laude and earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Ateneo de Manila University. With a solid educational foundation she gained great exposures in the hotel industry and was able to work in well-known companies in the Philippines and even in other countries.

Ms. Rosales has a very persuasive communication skill which made it easier for her to create a strong relationship with her subordinates, associates in the hospitality industry, clients and with other influential people in the local and national level.

For lunch we had Garlic Fried Rice, Yang Chow Fried Rice and The nutty Chicken Curry made my day. Grilled Salmon, Porchetta and Fresh Greens Salad made it even fantastic.
