Mindanao’s premier hotel, Marco Polo Davao introduces signature dishes that will redefine your culinary experience in three of their stellar restaurants - Café Marco, Polo Bistro and Lotus Court.

“We are delighted to unveil Marco Polo Davao’s signature dishes for our three restaurants as we continue to be a destination for culinary adventure,” said Executive Chef Alex Destriza.

Café Marco, the hotel’s all-day Western, Filipino and Asian dining restaurant introduces Gambas al Ajillo as its new signature dish.  This popular Spanish prawn dish is served with fresh baby prawn, Italian chorizo, olive oil, garlic, chili, paprika powder, and dried chili finger. 

Gambas al Ajillo has always been a diner’s favorite when it's out smokin’ and hot on the spread. Its distinctive flavor brought clamor to make it a mainstay on the buffet.  Café Marco heard you, thus, its status is elevated and now the signature dish of the Café. 

And since Davao has an abundant supply of fresh baby prawns, no reason why diners can’t enjoy this prawn goodness to their heart’s delight.

Lotus Court is Marco Polo Davao’s award-winning and most celebrated Cantonese Restaurant in town. It offers a diverse selection of oriental dishes on the menu.

The Dimsum Trio comprised of Spinach Dumpling, Xiao Long Bao and Century Egg Siomai, will take centerstage as it takes its claim to be the restaurant’s signature dish.

All three of them have a unique individual flavor that’ll take your oriental gastronomic experience to another level. Chef Ranillo Indonilla is China-trained to offer diners the most authentic dimsum flavor from where it all started. My personal favorite? – The Spinach Dumpling. 

This is meant for sharing with family and friends. But if you don’t have any of those and just want a day of dimsum to yourself, by all means, head to Lotus Court for this filling signature dish.  Nothing beats treating yourself to a steaming hot dimsum platter.

Polo Bistro is the hotel’s outdoor restaurant with a great view of the swimming pool. For its signature dish, expect a generous serving of tender Baby Back Ribs with truffle mashed, pomelo salad, buttered French beans, and sweet potato chips. 

It’s a big portion and it’s meant for sharing. But if you get to complete thirty laps on the pool, I bet you’ll have it all to yourself. 

The launch was held at the newly recarpeted Lobby Lounge and was graced by blogger and media friends of Marco Polo Davao. Also present were Ms. Pearl Maclang, the Sales and Marketing Director of the hotel, Ms. Sarah Dayrit, the hotel's Marketing Manager, and Ms. Jeline Gison, the hotel’s Comms Officer.

Marco Polo Davao is the purveyor of varied gastronomic adventures in the city. It’s power culinary team has proven yet again there is always something your palate can look forward and experience new flavors to when in the city.
