WHITE MONARCH

This photo was taken at Malagos Garden Resort, here in Davao City a month ago.

Normally Monarchs are orange in color and that what makes white monarchs (nivosus) different and rare. Entomologists have assumed that the white forms in their wings are results from the inability of the butterfly to synthesize the normal orange pigment,
