GT – AISHA TYLER MADE ME LAUGH

I found this book in a weekly book ‘ukay’ sale at a local mall here, it’s SWERVE: Reckless Observations of a Postmodern Girl, I knew the author as a TV host and a comedienne, so when I spotted this being thrown in and out of the heap, I dusted it off and paid P35 at the counter.

Aisha Tyler did not disappoint me, it’s not actually a full story book with a Tom and Jerry character book, it’s a collection of hilariously-written pop culture essays per her observations around her, especially on stuffs relating to women, sex, marriage and love.

I love it how she compared women’s everyday life battle with the wits of the ever famous, ancient war legend Sun Tzu. Her naughty, funny thoughts about the socio-political implications of bikini waxing, reality TV, her views on the Boys Scout motto: Be prepared and etc… it’s really funny, I bet yah, you will really be laughing in front a stranger… promise!

This book is brilliantly funny! I swear!

  1. you found a treasure for only P35. i think what made it funnier is it is a compilation of her observations and not a novel.

my entry is here, sis. have a nice day!

  4. I am not familiar with Aisha Tyler or her book, hee hee. It's interesting that it isn't a biography or a novel but a collection of her thoughts. Kind of like a blog, maybe? Thanks for sharing! :)
