DAVAO MEDIA ENJOY SUNLIFE BRIGHTER LIFE PRAXIS BOARD GAMEMay 12, 2016
In keeping with its financial literacy advocacy, Sun Life Financial Philippines has launched “Brighter Life Praxis,” a board game designed to make financial education fun and engaging.
A breakthrough way of creating conversations about money, the Brighter Life Praxis board game simulates real-life events – such as getting promoted, catching illness and losing a job – to force players to make financial decisions amid different economic cycles. Basic financial processes like budgeting and saving, as well as the more complex ones like investing in stocks and protection planning, are tackled. All the lessons gathered are processed at the end of the game, with the help of Praxis-accredited Game Masters from Sun Life.
Brighter Life Praxis is designed to open conversations about the topic of finances, including insurance and investments, which can be usually intimidating or overwhelming to many Filipinos. Sun Life is the first company to introduce the innovative board game in the country and it regularly holds board game sessions nationwide for clients, employees and financial advisors of Sun Life Canada (Phils.), Inc., Sun Life Grepa Financial (SLGFI), and Sun Life Asset Management Company, Inc. (SLMCI), so they can experience the beauty of the game firsthand. Employees from the Insurance Commission and the Philippine Investment Funds Association have also experiences playing the board game.
The feedback has been very positive, with player saying Brighter Life Praxis has given them the confidence to talk about financial decisions – a factor crucial in their journey to financial freedom.
Davao Bloggers enjoyed the game. It’s similar to playing to monopoly, but Brighter Life Praxis is a bit complicated and involved a lot of thinking given your current circumstance how to decide on your financials – whether to invest to save or let go of the chance.

In this game, whatever you decide there will always be ramifications with your future, financial wise.
In the end, I lost everything – all of my salary, my savings, and my investments when the Game Master announced that Ebola virus reached the Philippines. I got hit by the deadly virus and everything I own and earned were wiped out in a matter of sec.
Best financial lesson I’ve learned at the end of the game, be wise at where you put your money. Invest on properties, these are 'spendings' that appreciates in value through time and when worse comes to worst; you have always something to pull out of your drawer.
Brighter Life Praxis is really an engaging game, we were all so caught up we even whined when the game master announced we have few minutes left for the game. It was fun and very enlightening, financial wise.
Thank you very much Sun Life Financial for inviting us.
Prosperity pose, #parasapagbabago
